Christian and Islamic Religion

Christian and Islamic Religion

From the beginning of humanity the majority of people on the Earth are faithful and not new millenium, which came with advanced science and with lots of pieces of knowledge, didn’t changed this fact and just probably one of the six people dont profess religion.

Religion

What is religion

Religion is the steady system of conceptions of existence of supernatural truths, that are beyond reach of our sensible experience and understanding, which share a group of beliefs. It is the system of thought considered to be supernatural, sacred and divine also as the faith in highest truth, god or in gods.

The number of adherents

Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism are the largest world religions today. Approximately 75 % of mankind follows one of these four religions. Christianity is the religion with the largest number of professed religious adherents (2.1 billion), followed by Islam (1.3 billion), Hinduism (900 million) and Buddhism (376 million).

But the third largest group of about 1 billion people (include Humanism, Atheism, Rationalism and Agnosticism) is unfaithful.

In 1950 were 94 % people in the Czech Republic faithful, but in 2001 just the third of Czechs are faithful and almost of them (26 %) are in the Roman Catholic Church.

Christianity

Christianity is a monotheistic religion, Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament. Christianity began in the 1st century as a Jewish sect, today is Christianity separated into Roman Catholicism, Eastern Christianity and Protestantism. In each part there are several Churches like the Roman Catholic Church in Roman Catholicism, which is the biggest one.

Christian Beliefs

Christians believe in following:

Jesus, who was born of Mary, a virgin who conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, is the Son of God and is One with God.

They believe that Jesus suffered, was crucified, died, was buried and then he was resurrected and ascended into Heaven.

That Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead and people who repent their sins will be forgiven and anyone can have salvation.

Ten Commandments

Ten Commandments, which were written by God and given to Moses on Mount Sinai in the form of two stone tablets are:

  1. You shall have no other Gods but me.
  2. You shall not make for yourself any idol, nor bow down to it or worship it.
  3. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
  4. You shall remember and keep the Sabbath day holy.
  5. Respect your father and mother.
  6. You must not kill.
  7. You must not commit adultery.
  8. You must not steal.
  9. You must not give false evidence against your neighbour.
  10. You must not be envious of your neighbours goods. You shall not be envious of his house nor his wife, nor anything that belongs to your neighbour.

If you have some sins, you cant take the holy wafer, but majority of sins are forgiveable, if you are really sorry for that you have done, you can do confession. But there is also sins that are unforgivable. It means that you won’t never do confession next time; e.g. if you divorce yours wife, it won’t be forgiven.

Islam

Islam is said to be the second largest religion in the world, with about 20 % of the worlds population calling themselves Muslims. However, Islam is the fastest growing religion, and it will probably outnumber Christians sometime around the year of 2020.

Islam is the youngest monotheistic religion that organizes all aspects of life. Islam establishes all your duties and rights in your relationships with God, yourself, your children, relatives, neighbours, guests and other brothers.

Five Articles of Faith says in what Muslims believe and The Five Pillars of Faith says what they have to do.

Five Articles of Faith

The five articles of faith are the main doctrines of Islam. All Muslims are expected to believe in Allah, angels, Scripture, prophets and in last days.

  • Allah is one and only god. Muslims believe that there is one true Allah, who created the whole universe. (“Allah” is the Arabic translation of the word God.)
  • Angels exist and interact with human lives. Each angel have different purposes or messages to bring to earth and every man has got two angels who record his actions. The first angel records good deeds whilst the second bad ones.
  • Scripture. There are four inspired books: the Torah of Moses, the Psalms (Zabin) of David, the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Injil) and the Quran.
  • God has spoken through prophets, the six greatest of them are: Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad, who is the last and greatest Allahs messenger.
  • On the last day there is a time of resurrection and judgment. Those who follow Allah will go to the Islamic heaven, those who not will go to hell.

The Five Pillars of Faith

The five pillars of faith are observances, duties that each Muslim must do.

  • Creed. To become a Muslim, you must publicly say: “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah.”
  • Prayer must be done five times a day (upon rising, at noon, in mid-afternoon, after sunset, and before going to sleep) in the direction of Mecca.
  • Almsgiving. Muslims are legally required to give one-fortieth (2.5 percent) of their income to poor people.
  • Fasting. During Ramadan Muslims fast from sunup to sunset each day. They should abstain from all food and drink.
  • Each Muslim is expected to make the pilgrimage to Mecca (for those who are able) at least once in their life.

And finally, there is a sixth religious duty, which is associated with the five pillars of faith - Jihad. Jihad means Holy War that all Muslim mens have to join because of defending or spreading Islam.

Islam habits

What Muslims musnt and profess:

Muslims musnt kiss woman or take her by hand in front of children, eat pork meat, drink vine and muslim womans cant study. In Islam world womans are owned by mens and one man can have four wifes. Muslims profess motto tit for tat and agree witch public executions and lashings. They insist on loyalty, veracity and courage and disapprove cant and lie.

Commonwealth of Nations

The Commonwealth of Nations (CN), also known as the British Commonwealth or simply as the Commonwealth, is a voluntary association of 53 independent sovereign states, which are, except Mozambique and the United Kingdom itself, former colonies of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The Head of the Commonwealth is Queen Elizabeth II, who is recognized by each state, and as such is the symbol of the free association of the organisation’s members. This position does not imply political power over Commonwealth member states and it is not hereditary. In practice, the Queen heads the Commonwealth in a symbolic capacity, and it is the Commonwealth Secretary-General (since 1999 Don McKinnon) who is the chief executive of the organisation.

English Queen Elizabeth II is also the Head of State of sixteen members of the Commonwealth, called Commonwealth Realms. As each Realm is an independent kingdom, Elizabeth II, as monarch, holds a distinct title for each, though, by a Prime Ministers’ Conference in 1952, all include the words “Head of the Commonwealth” at the end. Beyond the Realms, the majority of the members of the Commonwealth have their own, separate Heads of State: thirty-one members are Commonwealth republics and six members (e.g. Brunei, Malaysia and Tonga) have their own monarchs, they are indigenous monarchies.

The Commonwealth is primarily an organisation in which countries with diverse economic backgrounds have an opportunity for close and equal interaction. The primary activities of the Commonwealth are designed to create an atmosphere of economic co-operation between member nations, as well as the promotion of democracy, human rights, and good governance in those nations.

The Commonwealth is not a political union, and does not allow the United Kingdom to exercise any power over the affairs of the organisation’s other members.

Every four years the Commonwealth’s members celebrate the Commonwealth Games, the world’s second-largest multi-sport event after the Olympic Games. The organisation is celebrated each year on Commonwealth Day, the second Monday in March.

Poslední týden prázdnin

Je to už bohužel tak. Nedělí mi končí prázdniny a budu muset (no dobře tak prostě chci) zase nastoupit do školy.

No a teď abych si užil poslední klidný den, pátek. Zítra už by to chtělo balit.
